A new movie titled 'F1', starring Brad Pitt, is set to be released on June 25, 2025. The film was shot at the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix, where Pitt, in his role as Sonny Hayes, stepped out of the car to greet the audience after filming a scene from the fictional race.
The plot of 'F1' centers on Sonny Hayes, a driver who retires from Formula 1 after an accident, but returns to racing after the fictional team APXGP convinces him. His teammate is a rookie driver played by Damson Idris. Although the cast does not include recognized Formula 1 drivers, figures like Sergio 'Checo' Pérez and Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing, along with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc from 'Il cavallino rampante' are seen in the trailer alongside Brad Pitt during filming.
Additionally, Esteban Ocon's participation in the production is highlighted. During filming, Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton drove a Formula 2 car with Brad Pitt as a passenger, creating tense moments when the actor appeared scared by the speed. These experiences add to the anecdote of Julio César Chávez, who reacted similarly when taking a 'lap' with Pérez in a racing vehicle.
Lewis Hamilton, also a producer of the movie 'F1', played an active role in training the actors for their roles in the film. In an interview with Time magazine, director Joseph Kosinski mentioned the importance of the actors understanding the responsibility associated with being a professional driver, providing them with experiences that tested their limits.
